Elijah is a sweet and adorable pup. He is currently in training to become a great service dog. And while there’s a lot more for him to learn, Elijah still manages to find tons of fun en route his journey.
Most recently, Elijah paid Disneyland a visit. And the photos that were taken during his trip were more than adorable. He clearly loved meeting all his new friends.
Elijah, who’s turning 2 in about 4 months from now, was only an 8–week–old pup when he started being with Ashley Wilt, his caretaker. Wilt volunteers as a puppy raiser with Canine Companions for Independence, an organization that matches service dogs and people who are differently abled at no cost.
“Our goal is to raise confident and well-adjusted puppies that will succeed in professional training and eventually have a future as service dogs,” explained Wilt.
Part of a service puppy’s training involves getting accustomed to and around new people. It also includes exposing them to new and unusual situations. Yet, being in training need not be tedious.

Wilt resolved to take Elijah to what is called “The Happiest Place on Earth”. Yes! The sweet dog visited Disneyland. And he somehow proved the tagline to be true.
There, Elijah met his favorite Disney characters, who were equally happy with the encounter. The adorable pup had one great time in Disneyland. And his tail just kept wagging, said Wilt. But of course, there was more to the trip than just one fun vacation.
“Going to Disneyland is not a typical daily routine of working service dogs,” said Wilt. “But a lot of the things there were something he could possibly encounter. Every time we go out training, it helps him prepare better.”
Have you ever seen anything cuter than a service pup meeting Pooh, Pluto, Cinderella, Snow White, and Ariel at Disneyland? All of Elijah's Disney dreams came true! 💕✨ More photos to come soon! Someone has asked to share this post. I have made it public so you are totally welcome to do so! You can follow his Instagram to see more photos of his Disney trip as I post them! In a couple of weeks, Elijah will be starting a new chapter in his training with Canine Companions for Independence and his time with Wilt will soon be over. But despite that, the memories they’ve made together will always be with them. Because of their hard work, the world can become one better place.
